Here is the heir to the legendary Seecamp double action .32 auto introduced in the 1970s, North American’s Guardian, all stainless, in .380 ACP Caliber, introduced in 1997. From this specimen’s BC05000 range serial number, and from its Kahr Arms frame marking, we estimate it was manufactured in 2003 or 2004. Manufacturer is North American Arms of Provo, Utah, with frame supplier Kahr Arms of Worcester, MA. Construction is stainless steel metal, with spring steel inner parts, and a nickel plated steel original factory issue magazine, made by Mec-Gar in Italy for North American Arms. Grips are contoured American Walnut on this specimen. Classification is semi-auto pistol, blowback action, hammer fired, double action only. Barrel length is 2 1/2 inches, with right hand six groove 1:16 rifling. Note that the barrel is slab type, with cutaway slide. Sights are barrel and slide integral blade front with solid rib and notch type rear. Trigger is .312 smooth faced combat type, and pulls in the 10 pound vicinity with 13/16 inch pull length. Magazine release is for the right handed shooter, not reversible to our knowledge. Chambering is .380 ACP caliber; magazine is Finger Rest type 6 round, so fully loaded capacity is 6+1 rounds. Overall length is only 4.6 inches from the muzzle to the back of the grip frame. Height without magazine is only 3.6 inches, or 4 inches from the top of the rear sight to the edge of the magazine’s finger rest. Maximum slide thickness is a very flat .912; upper grip thickness measures 1.27 inches. Weight empty is 19 ounces. This Guardian comes to us from its exclusive owner in Florida, a retired Corrections Officer. Surface detractions are moderate, principally faint edge scouring. We rate it as Very Good, 80 to 85 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves.
