The design gives a fully machined, close tolerance magwell without the structural problems common in broaching or EDM cutting of the mag cavity. The unique 2 piece design allows for a choice of side cover options, the military version had data acquisition and test electronics embedded, this one comes with a picatinny rail machined onto the side cover. The lower receiver is CNC machined from a solid block ("billet") of high strength heat treated aluminum alloy, used in Boeing 777 landing gear and in race car suspension and engine components, not the 7075 or 6061 alloys or the cheap forgings (stamped ) that are used by other manufacturers. Fully tested under extreme conditions and approved for sale by the BATF this receiver is now available to the general public in very limited quantities. The receiver was designed around the DPMS upper receivers, it is available in Mil Spec bead blast (ready for Ceracote finish) or in hard type 3 black anodize at no additional cost.
