This Germanic Schuetzen (Target) Rifle is in 8.15 X 46R with a 28 ½” Barrel having an excellent bore. It was made by Franz Neumann, Suhl Germany in 1930. It is identified as a Neumann Original Zentrum Modell II in period advertising. See “Alte Scheibenwaffen” by Tom Rowe, Vol 2, Page 244-247 for additional information about this rare system. It remains in excellent condition, as a late period example it is not engraved or embellished. The receiver is case hardened with little color, and the barrel retains all of the original bluing. Double set triggers and original aperture sight are provided. The design appears ungainly at first, but after handling and aiming the rifle its natural balance and ergonomic grace are revealed. It’s easy to understand why the old shooting society believed “real men shoot standing on their hind legs”.
