From the estate of Patrolman Clarence Rhoden who served our fellow citizens in McNairy County, Tennessee, as an Adamsville Policeman alongside now-Sheriff, now-Constable Buford Pusser, comes these vintage 1960s ammunition boxes in Very Good to Excellent Condition. All of them are Western Super Match .38 Special Boxes with Mr. Clarence's recipe neatly handwritten on one end, his shorthand for Nickel Plated Brass Cases with 148 gr hard cast Wadcutters loaded with 3 grains of Bullseye Powder. Since these were loaded over 40 years ago, their reliability is challenged somewhat; reports from some of Mr. Clarence's loads that our customers tried only yielded about 60 percent ignition. That is hardly the point on this ammo. And if the boxes were not prize enough, Sheriff Pusser himself probably practiced with some of the same lot loads in his Smith & Wesson Combat Masterpiece that our proprietor sold him in 1964 or 1965, since Patrolman Rhoden was the unofficial armorer for Adamsville P.D.
