The 50 Caliber octagonal Barrel is 39 inches long. The L.O.P is 13 1/4" . This rifle was designed and built by Mr. Fish, a custom Gun builder, who patterned it after Buck’s County Mountain Rifles. Note of providence explains he made this rifle for his wife, Wanda, but illness took her life in 1979 before she had an opportunity to fire it. He fired it 51 consecutive times and hit the X’s all 50 times. Fish was a practicing Gunsmith in Westfort for over 65 years. A copy of his obit is shown in the photos. A photograph of Fish in his younger years is shown in an article about Master Gunsmiths in the book “Custom Rifles by Jeff Cooper” dated 1957. These items of providence are included in the sale. The wood is hand craved in all areas. The action works 100% correct while the rifle components are tight with wood in all areas. The relief carved stock is in excellent condition with one fine crack line to the heel of the butt stock as seen in the photos. This is a great tribute to early American history of Firearm Manufacture. No FFL is required. The cost of shipping and insurance is $31.00.
