When we first got compact laser sighting devices 25 some odd years ago, we only had to take them outside on a cloudy day to show shoppers how inferior they were. An Oregon Company changed all that within eight years. Here is a pristine set of Crimson Trace Laser grips to fit Sturm Ruger’s SP101 series revolvers. They come to us from their exclusive owner, our favorite NYPD retiree. They are in their original box with Owner’s Handbook, installation handbook, styrofoam pad, wrenches, cleaning rods, and never applied warning stickers. Surface detractions are negligible, we simply don’t see any, and their owner never fired the Ruger while they were on it. We rate them as Near Mint in Box, but photos ought to suffice for our shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. They are certainly excellent mechanically, and this set has never been registered with the factory. Manufacturer is Crimson Trace of Wilsonville, OR. Construction is injection molded polymer body, black with stippled surfaces on each panel surrounding the company logo. Unit is pressure activated in the middle finger position; output is 5 Megawatt Red Laser beam that covers 1/2 inch at 50 yards. These grips are factory set at 50 yards, but they are adjustable for windage and elevation with .028 Allen type wrenches that are included. Battery requirements are two each 2032 Lithium 3 volt batteries, and a set of factory Matsushima batteries comes with this set. Factory order number is LG211, and replacement pricing in our area often exceeds $300, more than the SP101s sold for when they came out 30 years ago.
