No sooner had the Nazi Army attacked the Soviet Union in 1942, the Russian Government began manufacturing in earnest in Baikal, Russia, at their IZH plant. The Russian Arms Maker has maintained its reputation for quality, good looks, and accuracy ever since the war, and their firearms have always been popular in Europe. So much so that earlier in the present decade Remington began partnering with the proud producers of Spartan firearms under its ISP, International Sporting Products, division. Since IZH and the Baikal and Spartan names have gained sufficient recognition in the United States, the company is ready to stand on its own in an amicable parting of the ways, and here is one of the last IZH firearms to bear both Remington and Spartan names. Photo shows one specimen of only a few we've been able to get during the closeout sale. This is the Remington ISP Spartan model SPR310 Spartan Over-and-Under Shotgun in .20 Gauge. This attractive but tough little over-under features solid soldered Vent Rib Blued Chrome Lined Barrels, Nickel Receiver, and Eastern European Satin Finished Walnut Stock and forend. Factory specs are Over / Under Shotgun, cal. 20 gauge –3 inch chambers; 26 inch barrel with four choke tubes, cylinder bore, improved cylinder, modified and full; Nickel Engraved Receiver; Single Selective Trigger; Automatic Ejectors; Walnut Beavertail checkered forend and checkered pistol grip type buttstock; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb and 2 1/2 inch drop at heel; weight empty 7 1/4 pounds.
