1895 Colt SAA Revolver Serial #160709. W/Leather Holster and Belt. Colt .45 cal. , 4- 3/4 " Barrel It has been in our Family since the early 1900s My Great Grandfather Hugh Headlee was a Preacher in Texas and was arressted for NOT having a firearm it was Bought/Issued we believe around Marfa Texas in order for him to be released from jail.It was subsequently handed down to my Grandfather Frank Headlee who was a Deputy Sheriff in Oklahoma. It has matching serial numbers and about 20 to 30 Percent of the original blue. The frame bears the correct Colt patent dates in the corrrect third-type date arrangment and the correct circled " Rampant Colt " logo. Two factory inspector marks appear on this pistol an "O" in the hammer slot and very faint on the frame appears to be an "I" the assembly number "321" appears on the inside of the loading gate. The Grips appear original which are hard rubber with the rampant colt logo. Inside are the initial "DB" and the left grip also has the letters of "CES or "DES". The screws have significant wear probably by bieng taken apart and cleaned over the years. Mechanically the gun is out of time and the half cock position is not working. I have had this pistol Appraised by INCAVO APPRAISALS, LLC and its condition is considered Good to Very Good. The Holster and Belt are " Ben Varga San Antonio, Texas" It is very worn and is contemporary to the originall purchase of the gun.. Condition is considered FAIR. A box of shells will be included with pick-up only I will not ship the shells. Any reasonable offer will be considered.
