This is an engraved brass frame double barrel percussion overcoat or traveling pistol with a 45 caliber bore with London proof marks. It is 9 inches in length with 3inch barrels. The finish on the barrels is smooth and has a dark brown patina. The engraving on the brass frame and on the trigger guard is deep and sharp and can be seen in the photos. The hammers are lightly engraved and checkered. The bag type Walnut grips which are finely and tightly spaced checkered are in wonderful condition but do have a few handling marks as well as some dents in the base of the grip as seen in the photos. The half and full cock actions work on both barrels and have strong springs . Although this pistol is unmarked other than proof marks, it is clearly well made and has not been messed with. Please ask questions before bidding and be sure your local state and federal laws allow you to purchase this firearm. Buyer to pay $18 for shipping and insurance. No sales tax for out of state purchasers but New York State residents are required to pay 7% sales tax.
