Here is an excellent reincarnation of the fabled Winchester 1892 Trapper, a Puma Lever Action chambered in .44 Magnum Caliber, manufactured in Brazil by Rossi and imported by Howa's Legacy Sports wing. This one is the Scout variant of the Rossi 92. By way of tradition, is has the original tactical accessory from the 19th Century, the saddle ring. By way of modern alterations, however, it has three departures from the classic 1892 design. First, it has a hammer block safety, mounted unobtrusively on top of the bolt just forward of the hammer. Second, this rifle has an added on Monte Carlo piece for those who demand Extended Eye Relief scopes; and the most conspicuous is the picatinny Weaver type scope mount rail in the rear sight area. Metal is entirely blue steel, and the stock and forend are walnut finished Brazilian hardwood. Buttplate is blue steel as well. Weight is a pleasantly balanced 6 1/8 pounds empty. Barrel is 20 inches long, and capacity is 11 rounds of .44 Magnum. We highly recommend our Hornady LeveRevolution rounds that we have listed elsewhere on Guns America.
