Here is a very nice walnut-stocked Mossberg in .22 Magnum caliber that we traded one of our maternal cousins from nearby Henderson County out of. This is the Mossberg model 640K-C Chuckster, a 5 shot, clip fed .22 Magnum with 24 inch AC-Kro-Gruv barrel, so marked by the factory. It has a very attractive white-lined, press-checkered walnut stock with excellent vein patterns in the butt portion. Its serial number is 3553xx, and we estimate it was manufactured in the early 1970s, perhaps even in the 1960s, since the 640 K was discontinued in 1968, and the 640 M was manufactured in 1971 only. Surface detractions are only moderate. There is a faint amount of whitening at the muzzle and on the sides of the receiver, with some faint brown patina to the left side of the matte blue receiver. Buttstock has a dozen or so streaks and scours. We rate this rifle as Very Good, perhaps even Excellent, finishwise, since 85 to 90 percent of its finish is intact by our estimate. Photos, however, should suffice for interested parties to judge for themselves. It is excellent mechanically; the bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean and excellent. Cousin Danny Harold takes care of his guns, and he has never experience a misfire or failure to feed or eject. We're offering this fine little 5-shot, clip fed Mossberg .22 Magnum for only $ 259.95
