W. Billinghurst Rochester NY Percussion over and under Rifle shotgun combination. 40 cal Rifle barrel Bore VG strong rifling some pitting. 16 ga bottom shotgun barrel. Mech VG plus , Wood VG plus with checkered wrist. Has an old thin crack off the rear of the lockplate which fades out. . The stock has a deluxe grain. Has 28 ½” Rd barrel set. Has a front sight dovetail with no sight. Has a brass bead front sight. The rear sight is a insert type. The top of the barrels are marked W. Billinghurst Rochester NY. The bottom barrel has a twist pattern. The ramrod guides are made of iron and are original. Has wooden dowel ramrods not original. The receiver has an engraved backaction lock for the rifle barrel. The bottom shotgun barrel has a underhammer with triggerguard being the mainspring. Both actions work fine and the gun is usable. Has the original engraved, checkered buttplate with a long tang. Metal overall has a dark aged brown patina finish with some surface rust in areas of the barrels. A very quality gun in VG plus conditon. Lots of Information on W Billinghurst. 1807-1880
