We are offering an antique W. Richards double barrel shotgun with exposed hammers. This shotgun is chambered in 12 gauge. Gun features a unique fore-end located lever swing lock. No firing pins. Improved Chokes.
The 29.5” barrels are good with signs of wear. Barrels show a dark plum patina with some small dings. Muzzle is very good; Bore is good with signs of frosting; surface wear. There is a possible repair where the latch metal is located. PLEASE SEE PHOTOGRAPHS FOR MARKINGS
Action is in very good condition. Both sideplates are marked “W. Richards” without any other markings. Double hammers are nice and both work well; good springs. Action is missing both screw in firing pins. Double triggers. Action features a dark brown patina with some scattered freckling.
Walnut stock is good some condition issues. There is a chip from where the right side hammer is located. No other cracks or chips. Pistol grip checkering. Some surface scratches. BEAUTIFUL BUTTPLATE FEATURING A SCENE WITH DEER. Metal fore-end.
