Description: H&R "Topper Buck" slug shotgun with rifle sights. 24" smooth bore barrel cylinder bore. Good sights. Slim fore-end wood. Nice thick red rubber H&R factory recoil pad on butt. Metal is in good condition, and wood is in excellent condition. Has sling hardware on both ends. 12 gauge, 3" chamber. I have personally tested this gun with slugs and buckshot. Foster type 1 oz. slugs give good accuracy. Buckshot spreads less than 1" per yard of distance to target. At 25 yds I was getting 22" patterns with 00 buckshot. Action opens easily and locks up solid like a bank vault. Mechanically looks barely used. This gun is not very old. It has a serial number and looks like 1970s -1980s production. I was thinking of cutting the barrel down to 18.25" and calling it a "home defense" gun, or a "truck gun" to leave in my vehicle more or less permanently, for close-range work where you only need one shot but you want one very powerful shot that can drop anything on two legs or four.

NOTE: Picture shows gun with bit of yellow tape at 18" mark on barrel, and a small flashlight under barrel, just "to give me an idea what it would look like" if I bobbed the barrel. But I have not. It's still all-original, 24" barrel, and has never had anything attached to it.

Shipping Notes: FTF in the northern suburbs of Atlanta preferred, to sell to another GA resident. Otherwise, I would ship it to any verified FFL dealer in the USA at buyer's expense. I would ship it myself, unless buyer's chosen FFL only accepts guns from other FFLs, in which case buyer would have to pay the fee on my end for my local dealer to send it out.
