This 1952 Russian SKS has no rework mark on the receiver. The arsenal marks, proof marks, and original serial numbers appear sharp, deep and having no grinding of typical rework. The Tula star retains the arrow mark. Further evidence of original metal is the trigger guard- retains the original arched configuration with sharp matching numbers. All numbers match. There are several partial triangle proof marks with number "1" and what also looks like it could have been and "E" which I understand to be the proof for East German acceptance. The stock has been changed [but see below] evidenced by the absence of an original inspector mark and the "XXXX" over some original number, the Tula star not being as deep as it should be and the matching new number being deep. The chrome barrel looks new. I acquired this rifle in the late 80's, represented as "new" and have never fired it.
Regarding the stock? I received an email from someone claiming to know about SKS rifles who states that the Russian arsenals did not always put virgin stocks on new rifles. So, the best I can say is that this is a new rifle with a cleaned up non-virgin stock.
PAYMENT OPTIONS- I only accept USPS money orders. Payment must be received by me no later than 14 days after the acceptance of offer.
