This Smith and Wesson 38 military and police model comes with a period box a brochure to match. We believe this to be a model 1905 2nd change version as listed in The Blue Book of Gun Values. Overall condition is very nice with some minor blems as shown in the pictures. The serial #s on the frame and cylinder match (9246xx). The patent dates listed on the top of the barrel read as follows: Feb 6. 06,Sept 14th.09,Dec 29, 14. Cylinder rod and end of barrel show some wear. The grips are very nice with minor wear and a small dimple on the right side panel. The owner of this fine gun assured us it is not a reblue but we suspect it had some attention at some time in its history, that he was unaware of. The barrel is pinned and is 6 inches in length.
All in all a very fine representation of a weapon used in a time of our history when many law enforcement officers depended on their lives with this revolver.
