Here is a customized Winchester 1300 Shotgun that issued as a Turkey Gun. From its L2840000 range serial number, it was manufactured in 1995 or 1996. Manufacturer was U.S. Repeating Arms Company, 275 Winchester Ave., New Haven, CT. Barrel is marked Winchester® Model 1300 12 ga. 2 3/4 & 3” / --- Made in New Haven, Conn. USA Winchester Proof Steel ---. Type is slide or pump action shotgun with rotary bolt and double steel slide bars. Construction is steel barrel, magazine tube, bolt, trigger, and internal parts housed in an alloy receiver with alloy trigger group housing. Chambering is 12 gauge, 2 3/4 inch and 3 inch shells interchangeably. Barrel is 22 inch Winchoke®, and it comes furnished with a .721 Improved Cylinder Browning Invector® tube. Winchoke, Invector, and Mossberg Accu-Choke tubes are all the same thread, of course. Sight system is a 10 post .375 serrated top Ventilated Rib, with standard brass bead front sight. Rib is .25 above the barrel at the lug. Receiver has .350 milled serrations with original factory 4 screw drill and tap positions, and carries a Weaver #416 Picatinny type 4 slot base, with a new FM Brand Red Dot / Green Dot Electronic Sight, with Tasco Scope Rings. Magazine tube is Choate blued steel extension onto original factory steel; capacity is 8 + 1 on 2 3/4 inch, or 7 + 1 on 3 inch shells. Choate steel retainer clamp carries up to a 1 1/4 inch sling, and this Winchester has an adjustable Outdoor Connection black nylon sling with shoulder rest area. Forend is Advanced Technologies pistol grip type black polymer, with a 6 position AT M4 type collapsible buttstock, with steel swivel stud. Barrel and steel parts have a non glare matte finish, and receiver and trigger group are matte black anodized. Safety system favors the right handed shooter, with its button positioned in front of the .250 serrated faced trigger. Buttstock length of pull ranges from 11 inches fully collapsed, to 15 inches fully extended, from the trigger face to the top of the 1 inch AT Recoil pad. Weight empty is 8 pounds 9 ounces, with center of gravity at the breech face. This 1300 comes to us from security duty in New England. Surface detractions are moderate, principally two series of streaks on top of the receiver, occasional finish freckling on the barrel, and moderate operation whitening on the slide bars of the pump mechanism. We rate it as Very Good, 80 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are bright, and clean. From the moderate steaking to the shell carrier, We estimate this shotgun has been fired fewer than 300 times.
