Here is a very nice Beretta 92 FS, manufactured during the present decade that has seen brief service protecting our fellow Americans in the State of Maryland. It comes with a total of two ban period factory high capacity magazines. Both magazines are LE, marked Restricted – Government Use, and come from the ban period that expired in 2005. The magazine marking is a moot issue in most states, at least for the time being. It comes in a nice Allen cloth case and has its instruction manual. This pistol has, like most of its peers, been carried more than it has been fired. Its chief detraction is Agency marking, the numeral 6 in the upper curved area of the grip frame backstrap, and the numeral 3 on the upper area of the left grip panel. Apart from those two features, surface wear is moderate. There is white streaking on the lower edge of the frame backstrap and grip extension area, and a small whitened area on the serrated area of the front of the grip frame. Upper area of the sight has some whiteness on its edges. There is also some whiteness on the sharp edges of the muzzle, frame, slide and safety. We rate it as Very Good, approaching Excellent, since we estimate that 85 percent or more of the original finish is intact, but photos should suffice for interested parties to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and the entire mechanism are Excellent. Note that this Beretta has a steel, not plastic, guide rod. The magazine release, however, is plastic; we have not had any adverse reports on magazine releases, though, like we have on guide rods. Magazines are probably pre-Ban, since they are not LE marked, but since we have no way of confirming that, we cannot ship the magazines to California, New York, or Massachusetts.
