We began noticing the fit, finish and function of the Novak Brand Magazines that have come furnished with our Rock Island pistols that have performed so well for the past several years. Here are their identical mates from the manufacturer, ACT-Mag of Italy, exclusively imported by Precision Sports in Connecticut. These are superbly finished blue steel magazines with 7 round capacity and high impact polymer floorplates. Like their chief competitor Mec-Gar, they lock the .45 open when it fires dry like they’re supposed to; they free-fall eject like they’re supposed to, and most important, they hold spring strength and function reliably in all manner of environmental conditions and even when left loaded for months at a time. These magazines will also fit the Colt Defender; Kimber variants Compact, Ultra-Carry, and Ultra-Elite; Para-Ordnance and Springfield Compact and Ultra-Compact; Wilson Compact and SDS; Sig Revolution RCS; Detonics Combat Master; Rock Island 1911 Compact; and most any 1911 type pistol whose grip screws are 2 11/16 inches apart.
