This Browning B80 shotgun comes back to us from its home here in West Tennessee. From its PT date code in the serial number, manufacture date was 1986. Designer and components manufacturer was Beretta of Gardone, Italy. Assembler was FN Herstal, Viana do Castelo, Portugal. Importer and warrantor is Browning Arms, Arnold, Missouri. Construction is steel barrel, bolt, and internal parts engaged with an alloy receiver group, with cut checkered American Walnut stock and forend. Action is gas operated semi-automatic shotgun. Chambering is 12 gauge, for 2 3/4 inch shells only, with Beretta’s gas system that self compensates for light to heavy load shells. Barrel is 26 inch, with standard Invector Choke System. Barrel is Not back bored, its tubes are the same thread and size as older Winchester Winchoke® and Mossberg Accu-Choke®. It comes just like we got it, with a factory .715 Cylinder Invector Tube. Sight system is a 12 post .275 wide serrated top Ventilated Rib with stainless steel bead front sight. The rib sits .125 inch above the barrel at the forend cap. Magazine is white steel, Capacity is 3 + 1, or 2 + 1 with a plug or 3 shot adapter. Weight empty is 6 pounds 15 ounces, with the center of gravity at the breech face. Buttstock drop is the standard 1 1/2 inch at the comb, and 2 1/2 inches at the butt, with a 1 inch right hand cant. The B80 is not friendly to left handed shooters. Length of pull is 14 1/4 inches from the smooth rounded face .250 trigger to the end of the 1/2 inch factory recoil pad. Finish is bright blue barrel, semi gloss black anodized receiver, chrome plated bolt and shell carrier, and gold plated trigger. Walnut finish is classic glossy Browning. Surface detractions are moderate, principally some scours on the buttstock and edge wear to the metal. We rate this Light Twelve as Very Good, 80 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, mechanism, magazine tube and springs are all bright and clean. From this shotgun’s condition and our knowledge of its late owner’s family, we estimate it was fired fewer than 1,000 rounds, no rounds at all for a B80.
