The rifle is in excellent condition. I fired 10 rounds through the rifle at 30 yards in a 4" X 4" steel plate, and scored a 10/10 !!!!! This old rifle is a shooter!!!!The Remington Model 4 is a rolling block, solid-breech, hammerless, takedown, top-ejection rifle. This gun, designed by F.A. Houghton, J.O. Simpson, and O.H. Loomis, was introduced in 1890 and produced through 1933. During the 43-year period, there were 356,000 guns sold. The gun featured a rolling block action and competed quite successfully for accuracy and reliability with the Winchester guns of that time. I would rate the overall condition at 85%, as the blueing is pretty much gone. This is a really "neat" old gun.
