This rifle was made in 1897. S/N 140,XXX. I’m not as knowledgable about Marlins as I am Winchesters, but this gun appears to be all original (bluing and wood). There is some wear, but not abuse. The rifling appears to be very nice with a bore that shines. There may be small amounts of pitting, but overall, it looks very good. I have not shot this gun, but I’m sure it will shoot just fine. Since it is an Antique, have this gun checked out by a gunsmith before firing. I was told that it will shoot .22 Shorts, Longs and Long Rifles.
