I remember us having stacks of Browning T-Bolts in their closeout year, probably 1974, for $55.00 apiece in our store. Most of them were Left Hand, and one shows up here locally about every decade or so. This is a right hand variant of the FN Belgian Browning T Bolt, manufactured in 1970. It has the correct x70 suffix appended to its 5-digit base serial number. This is an Excellent Rifle. The only detractions to the blond walnut stock are five or so very light, very inconspicuous scuffs on the stock. It shows the beginnings of what we call lizarding underneath its glossy finish, but the finish is entirely intact and original. None of the scuffs penetrate the finish. Trigger guard and group area show mild stress to both guard screws, light hints of scuffing on the trigger guard, and some magazine edge contact to the magazine aperture edges. Right rear side edge of the plastic front sight base housing has one inconspicuous small rough area, but the barrel and receiver surfaces are almost 100 percent. There is a tiny double scratch on the upper left side of the barrel about 1.5 inches forward of the receiver. The bolt handle has some dark toning, the safety lever edge shows a bit of white, and the left side of the bolt detent surface that mates into the receiver has some white streaking from its contact with the stock during operation. Bore, magazine, and chamber are all perfect. Barrel length on these, of course, was always a respectable 24 inches. We consider this rifle to grade 97 percent or so, but photos should be detailed enough for prospective buyers to judge finish grade for themselves.
