A fearsome looking weapon. The Savage Navy revolver with heart shaped trigger guard almost resembling a knuckle duster. This is the smooth cylinder variety with flat side frames, two piece walnut grips, blue finish, casehardened hammer, lever, trigger guard and triggers. Trigger cocking mechanism with hinged loading lever assembly. No inspector markings on grips observable. The grips show modest handling including light scratches and a few dings. The triggers and trigger guard have developed a brown patina. The remaining metal is gray showing scattered rust with some pitting on the top of the frame strap. The action mechanism needs repair and the hammer has been lightly filed/reworked. A collectible Civil War era piece.
