Ithaca Grade 2 Flues with twenty eight inch 28-gauge barrels. Serial number 354370 mfg. 1921. Choked Full & IM. Bores rate good. Machine cut swirl rib with gold bead up front. Barrel blue rates +90% with light wear in handling area above forend and at muzzle. The boxlock receiver is gray with about 20% faded case color remaining along with classic Ithaca engraving including woodcock on left and quail on right. The gamebirds are bordered by well done simple floral patterns. Trigger guard blue shows light wear from handling and trace rust. LOP from Miller single trigger is 13 1/2-inches over Pachmayr black Decelerator pad. The pistol grip buttstock shows a nicely done bright oil refinish, two panel checkering, and replacement pistol grip cap. Only very modest handling on the butt including a few light surficial-finish cracks. The finish adjacent to the recoil pad shows light chipping. The checkered Beavertail forend is excellent with hardly any wear. There are a couple of very small dings at the tip. Drop at comb measures 1 1/2" and drop at heel measures 2 3/8". The Flues was built on a three-piece lock mechanism invented and patented by Emil Flues. Introduced in 1908, it remained in production through 1926.
