This firearm belonged to a survivor of San Juan hill, Cuba and lived here in Santa Fe NM as many of the Rough Riders did. Back in the 30's he played with a local judge and to up the ante put his carbinr Krag on the bet and lost. It has the commeative Rough Rider medallion nailed into the wood by the original Rough Rider. There is some wood missing and it looks like it was hanging over a fireoplace or near a wood stove. Wood is heated, could be restored, but I haven't touch it since a grandson told the story. If your a Spanish American War collector or such, let us know. Antique, no FFL required.
