Cogswell & Harrison (London) The Avant Tout Double with 28-inch 12-gauge barrels. Ejectors. Serial number 25263. Barrels are choked Cyl/Cyl. 2 3/4-inch chambers. Bores rate very good. The blue on barrels is excellent showing only very light handling over their length. Makers stamp on barrel rib is very good. Gold bead front. The boxlock receiver is gray engraved in attractive floral scroll patterns (50% coverage). The bottom of the receiver blue shows light thinning and the trigger guard shows wear from carry. The straight wrist stock and splinter type forend show a nice oil refinish. Both butt and forend are neatly checkered with borders. LOP over pad measures 14 1/4-inches. Drop at comb measures 1 1/2" and drop at heel measures 2 1/4". Serial number 25263, this fine British double weighs 6 1/2 lbs.
