I made these racks about 15 years ago to hang just the Carcanos in my collection. The spacing between supports keeps all the carbines level as well as an equal distance from one another up & down. The levelness & equal distance varies a little depending on what type of Carcano your hanging.
There are two racks both capable of holding six carbines each. The wood is white oak 3/4" x 3 1/2" x 32". The wood is routed on the edge and sealed in semi gloss polyurethane. The metal is chrome plated but after all these years is starting to yellow in spots. These areas are hardly seen when the carbines are hung in place. The racks are mounted to the wall by 3 1/2" wood screws on one side to the wall studs and toggle bolts into the wall on the other where the rack misses the stud. The heads of these screws/bolts are hidden under the steel strap that holds the threaded hooks.
The racks can hold the weight of a half dozen rifles without a problem. The 3 1/2" wood screws and toggle bolts are more than strong enough to hold the combined weight to the wall. The threaded 3/8" supports are strong enough to hold the weight of each weapon as well as more. In the one photo you can see that there are two additional guns hanging by their straps, an AK47 & a French Hotchkiss on the bottom supports holding the Italian Youth Carbine.
I'm asking $110 plus $15.00 shipping for the pair. I'd like to sell them as a pair but will consider selling them separately if I can get two buyers wanting one each. Please email me off list if you have any questions.
Three day inspection period. No personal checks. US postal money orders only. For more info email me at or call . More photos available on request.
