This is a copy of the famous Darne R model sliding breech shotgun. The quality is similar and this is a good one. Nice wood had an early repair on the fine semi pistol grip,owner shot it as ammo is available for the fine 16 ga. SxS gun. The stock has an inlaid 1921 silver dollar as this was the owners Uncle who originally purchased this gun. According to him it was the year of purchase 1921, listed in Blue book under the same as RIO and Halifax model Darne shotguns. 80% blue, nice silver with some scroll work on sliding breech. Bore appears in excellent condition. Some minor pits on end of bore, believe to be modified and full chokes.
