Belgian Percussion Double with Case & Accessories

Belgian Percussion Hammer Double with Philadelphia marked 30 1/2-inch laminate twist barrels. Liege proofs on barrel underside. Barrels are single wedge fastened (wedge is missing) & have developed an attractive light brown/yellow patina. Bores are good showing only very light rust. The concave rib stamped in script "J.S. & J. PHILAD". Bar action side locks are simply engraved in floral scroll as are hammers. Locks and hammers are mostly gray. Locks are not marked. The trigger guard is engraved with floral scroll and has pinneaple finial forward. The stock is with straight wrist, oil finish and two panel checkering. Engraved pinneaple finial at forend tip. The wood rates very good with only light scattered handling which includes a few light dings on checkering. With brass tipped rod. Includes original oil finish wood case with partitions and soft purple lined. The case lid is with brass plaque with original owners name engraved in script. The case wood is good condition, without visible cracks and only light scattered scratches. The partitions are solid and the lining shows light wear mainly from the gun contact points. The lining could use a cleaning. With accessories. Accessories include original excellent condition 2 - 1/2 pound dog scene American Flask & Cap company hard leather shot pouch with 1 1/4 ounce adjustable pour spout. Also includes soft leather shot pouch (unmarked) in poor condition (light crazing and scuffs). With 3 piece wood cleaning rod and Budds Patent and JC PetMecky brass cleaning tip (interesting device), and Eley caps in original tin. A rather interesting and collectible Belgian antique double gun with length of pull from front trigger measuring 13 3/4-inches over steel buttplate.
