VERY RARE U.S. SPRINGFIELD TRAPDOOR CADET RIFLE MODEL 1873 SN 11001. BREECHBLOCK MARKED U.S. MODEL 1878, DIE MARKER ERROR, CALIBER 45-70 GOVT. This breechblock marking is extremely rare. Less than 1,050 Model 1877 Springfield Cadet Models were produced circa 1877-1878 with most of production going to West Point. 29 1/2 inch barrel. Walnut stock marked A.H. and H.P. Steel buttplate marked U.S.
Condition: Very Good. Clear markings. Some original blue turning brown remaining. Missing rear sight and ramrod.
