My father served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Japan and returned home with this GERMAN MAUSER BROOMHANDLE PISTOL and leather case. He had told me once he "traded cigarettes" in return for having the pistol polished and a custom leather case made to fit it while serving in Japan. The pistol's serial number (519584) is clearly stamped on both the side and end of the pistol, the last four digits of the serial number are stamped on the top of the pistol, and the last three digits of the serial number are stamped on the pistol's hammer. There is a large ring at the bottom of the "broomhandle" grip. While my father passed this WWII pistol down to me, none of my children are interested in it so I have decided to sell it. It has been sitting in a desk drawer in my office for several decades now. To the best of my limited knowledge this pistol is in "all original" very good condition. I have never fired this weapon.
