100 YRS. OLD! C&R. 1912 SMLE #1 mk III restored to original configuration. Magazine cutoff intact and fully functional. Frame, bbl., and magazine # is 1766 broad arrow C. Under bolt reads: CrownGR Enfield 1912 ShtLE III. Trigger guard (and magazine) marked with broad arrow C,too. Bolt is non-matching but low# 4887. Has WW2 cocking piece mounted on it now, but included in the sale is a correct unnumbered WW1 cocking piece w/ some fine rust, no pits. Nose cap is marked 5148. Such low #'s suggest a WW1 era arsenal re-match to me. Rifle orig. finish is worn to patina. No rust or pitting visible. Some fine rust under new wood up high near internal bbl. band. Missing 3 non-critical small parts: front nosecap screw, stacking swivel, and front sling swivel. Front sight loose, needs a little peening or locktite. Aftermarket front wood. Buttstock is probably not original since it has no brass disc or marks, but is well fitted and very tight w/ correct brass buttplate. Bore is vg w/ prominent rifling. No visible pitting. Postal Money order ($1 at any PostOfc.) ships to your FFL immediately. All checks wait to clear my slow bank.
