From its 1980s tylized tang pattern and total of only three dots, this Case Sodbuster single blade knife, pattern number 2138, was manufactured in 1987. The Sod Buster, of course, was a plain jane, but very sturdy, conventional utility knife that quickly became very popular and very collectable. This photo specimen, in fact, came to us from an impressive local West Tennessee collection, alongside 1920s Texted XX Pearls and 1970s Scrimshawed folding hunters. Overall length is 4 5/8 inches closed, and the solitary skinner style blade measures 3 7/8 inches from heel to point. The blade is Chrome Vanadium, good metal as our old farmer teachers used to describe it, that would hold an edge much better than the stainless knives of the 1970s. This Sodbuster has never been used or sharpened; its only surface detractions are faint amounts of buffing to the blade tang edges from contact with the solid brass liners. We rate it as Near Mint, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Backspring strength and fit is excellent. We’re offering this genuine non-stainless Reagan Era Sodbuster for only $ 39.00. We do not sell knives to civilians under 21 years of age. Most knives with blades over 3 inches are illegal to carry on Federal Property. All knives are illegal to transport on airlines. No shipments of knives with blades over 3 inches to civilians in New York unless we have a copy of your current New York hunting license. No knife shipments to civilians in Chicago, Puerto Rico, or New York City. Knoxville Tennessee residents must furnish Weapons Carry Permit for fixed blade hunting knives or copy of Police Commission Identification. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
