Description: As the story was told to me, my Grandfather was friends with and a customer of Roy Weatherby's since the '40's. I have more than a few W. German Weatherbys and a couple of Japanese as well but this item is special.

Told it is an early Weatherby (pre-Mark V). Has classic Weatherby-looking Monte Carlo stock in BEAUTIFUL luminescent wood which I believe to be black walnut. The birth of the "California School" of bolt-action sporters. Flat-bottomed fore-end with the "reverse V" rosewood tip and gracefully flaring pistol grip with a rosewood grip cap which are all classic and distinctively Weatherby. I believe it is a Belgian FN Mauser 98 action. Right side of barrel near receiver marked APEX. Left side of barrel near receiver marked 7mm REM. MAG. Left side receiver (right next to 7mm markings) says 1908 which I assume to be the s/n. “Lion over P.V” stamp on the bolt handle. Several scattered small mars in the wood finish and a couple of places where the bluing is not perfect. Otherwise I call this at ~ 98% condition.

Topped by a Bushnell Banner 3-9x40 scope in Weaver rings.

All I’ve done is put a new Pachmayr White Line recoil pad on as the old one had dried and solidified.

Was one of granddads favorites as it has his initialed metal shield attached to the bottom of the butt - which means it was an accurate and dependable “guaranteed meat in pot” field piece.

Includes a full box of Winchester CXP2 Super X 150gr Power Point ammo.

Everything stated above is how I see it and/or what I have been told but... I could be wrong. At this time I offer no returns. I will do everything in my power through photos, email, and/or phone contact if necessary to help you feel more comfortable in your purchase prior to committing to the transaction.

Regardless, this is a beautiful piece that will make a fine addition to your collection.

Any input, opinions, or advice graciously welcomed. Plus, in this economy, what something is worth and what people are prepared to pay for it may very possibly be two different things so... please feel free to make me an offer.

Just a friendly reminder: Just because you click the "Buy It" button does not mean you were the 1st to do so OR the one whose offer I will eventually accept. Repeated demands for a mailing address so you can send payment will be ignored unless you are the one whose offer I have accepted. Thank You.
