It served alongside a majority of FN Browning Hi-Powers with Jerusalem’s Police Department. One of the Armorers refinished its frame to Satin Nickel, and installed high profile 3 dot sights. Otherwise, this is the classic configuration of the Hi-Power with round Commander hammer. Caliber is THE 9mm, 9mm Luger, 9x19, 9mm Parabellum, call it what you will. Construction is entirely steel, 118 mm or 4 5/8 inch barrel, right-hand-twist 6 groove; magazine safety and firing pin safety; weight empty 32 oz / 900 g; fixed 3 dot sights; single action only with lever safety; .265 smooth face combat trigger and matching Commander style hammer. Serial number is B 59,000 range, 1994 or 1995 production. Frame and barrel numbers match, but the slide is a FEG Factory replacement and renumbered slide. Slide is marked Made in Hungary FEG-Budapest. Import marking appears on the forward under side of the frame. Most of this pistol’s mates that came into the United States were labeled as PJK9HP models by then-current importer Mr. Michael Kassnar. Magazine included is a new 10 shot Mec-Gar; and of course standard issue capacity was 13 + 1. Grips are traditional checkered walnut, with no lanyard. Surface detractions are moderate, principally finish freckling and some white scours on the slide, but only a few tiny places on the Satin Nickel finished frame. We rate this Hi-Power as Very Good / Refinish, 80 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice so that our distinguished shoppers can judge finish grade for themselves.
