Here are two straggling but unique magazines we got with some 92F pistols that were issued to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Both these bear CRC markings on their steel floorplates. Somehow, then, this pair wandered over to Los Angeles from duty at the California Rehabilitation Center in Norco, 50 miles east. Manufacturer is Check Mate of Wyandotte, New York. Check Mate, of course, is principally known for their excellent quality Smith & Wesson Magazines; but they’re also Government Contractors. From these two magazines Restricted Law Enforcement markings, we estimate they were manufactured in the late 1990s. They will fit any 92 series Beretta Pistol with a standard sized grip frame chambered in 9mm, including models 92, 92S, 92SB, 92SBF, 92F, 92F Centurion, and 92FS. Construction is all steel body, springs and floor plates, with military parkerized finish. Cartridge followers are high impact polymer. Surface detractions are only moderate, principally from being shipped together with a vast majority of Beretta Italian Magazines that came from LASD. We rate them as Very Good, close to Excellent, 80 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. They are excellent mechanically, spring strength is excellent. These are all excellent magazines, and from their service with the distinguished officers of the LASD and from their history, they are collectable in their own right. They are eminently serviceable.
