This is a Winchester 1866 with engraving that is not Winchesters but it is of that vintage. The engraving is on the top of the reciever to the back strap. The Firearm is in 44 rim fire and overall in good shape when you consider its age. Condition 65% serial number is 68526 The top of the barrel is stamped Winchester Repeating Arms New Haven CT King"s Improvement Pateneted March 28th 1855, October 16 1860 which from the data I have found in Blue Book and Gun Digest etc.. is proper for the model
This is a unique piece and if if you look on the front of the reciever near the forearm you can see some notches on the reciever; if this could only talk what stories of History would be told. Own a piece of history call us or email for additional information
