From the estate of a North Mississippi Delta Farmer comes this pristine specimen of USRAC’s and Miroku’s joint reintroduction of the Classic Winchester Model 12 in the early 1990s. This fine little shotgun is in its original Red two piece box with styrofoam inserts, tissue paper, hang tag intact, and instruction manual. There is no dating schema, and Mr. Fjiestad does not even note this variant’s existence. From some of the number on the manual, we estimate that this shotgun was manufactured in 1993, in a limited quantity of 1000 guns. This one’s number is WMT0700 range out of those thousand. Service address on the hang tag indicates Arnold Missouri, reflecting the 1990 acquisition of USRAC by Browning Arms. Manufacturer on this shotgun is Browning Principal supplier B.T. Miroku. Construction is blue steel with American walnut stock and forend. Action is slide or pump shotgun, classic Browning model of 1912 design. Chambering is 20 gauge, 2 3/4 inch chamber only. Barrel is 26 inch Improved Cylinder with high post ventilated rib. Receiver is half coverate engraved, as the photos show, with pointer motif left side and waterfowl right side, both with gold inlay. Note that the cut checkered stock and forend has generous sunburst and fiddleback pattern to the walnut, satin finish. This shotgun has been assembled, but never fired. Its only detractions are very faint forend iron contact on the forward section of its magazine tube. Any white showing on the muzzle area of the barrel is from our lights; and we photographed it with the metal fairly dry, then re-oiled the surfaces after that. We rate it as Near Mint, Unfired in Box, but photos ought to suffice for our shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Replacement pricing on the Browning reproduction model 12s, less handsome than this one, ranges upwards of $2000 apiece when one sees them, and they are not exactly plentiful. A mint in Box higher grade original will fetch more than twice that in many instances.
