Vintage Nickel Steel original Winchester Model 1912 manufactured in 1917 is equipped with its factory 30 inch modified fixed choke barrel with 2 3/4 inch chamber. Wood finish is good and shows signs of field use consistent with age. There is no significant wood loss, other than a few of the usual handling and use marks that can be attributed to age. Under close inspection there appears to be a small tight hairline surface split, possibly an old repair, on the upper rear right corner of the forearm grip. Wood on forearm and stock is tight with no movement or additional cracks. Metal finish on barrel is quite good with receiver having suffered a majority of blue loss, however no rust or pitting appears present. Bore is good and hard rubber Winchester butt plate shows some wear. Some speculation exists that buttplate may have been replaced or removed at one time, althoug not confirmed. Mechanics operate as expected with no notable flaws. Serial number matches on both receiver and magazine tube at 1372xx. Overall condition is rated good.
