LG2154 The star of the movie Gone in 60 Seconds was of course the 1967 Shelby Mustang. The best actor award for a shotgun went to this one’s immediate ancestor, a High Standard Flite King slide action in its K-120 variantion used by Steve McQueen’s character in the 1972 movie Getaway. Anti-hero Doc McCoy took a K-120 out of an El Paso gunshop and proceeded to decimate all the Texas Mafia’s Cadillacs, Elevators, and everything else that stood in his way of his escape to Mexico. From this specimen’s 3215000 serial number, it was manufactured in 1975. This High Standard has seen less action, from its appearance, than McQueen’s did. Surface detractions to its blue steel surface are minimal, only occasional scouring here and there, and whitening to the edges of the single steel slide bar and receiver edges. Traditional glossy finished hardwood buttstock and corn-cob serrated forend exhibit extensive scouring and weathering, but no deep scrapes. We rate this shotgun as a Strong Very Good, close to Excellent specimen finishwise, but photos should suffice interested parties to judge finish grade for themselves. It is excellent mechanically: bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent, and we believe this K-120 has been fired fewer than 100 rounds. Specs are slide action shotgun with single slide bar; solid blue steel barrel, tube, and receiver with asemi-gloss anodized trigger group; 14 inch length of pull fron the center of the serrated face trigger to the end of the original buttplate; 18 inch cylinder bore barrel with beadsight chambered for 2 3/4 inch shells only; high capacity steel magazine tube with 7 + 1 capacity. Weight empty is 7 1/4 pounds. This is an attractive, eminently serviceable and eminently collectable shotgun. We’re offering it for only $ 339.00.
