Savage Model 250/3000 Serial #175xxx (1915 Vintage, 2nd year production of this model). Built from 1914 until 1921, This model was unique in that it used the "High Lustre Receiver Blue" and "Perch Belly" buttstocks used on the very early models up until approximately 1915 also incorporating a finely cross-checked trigger only used on this model. Otherwise, this was a normal takedown model 1899 with the above special features. These models are quite scarce in this or better condition because of the popularity of the cartridge and were hunted quite hard right from the introduction. The metal retains an honest 95% Original Blue with the most wear being on the bottom of the receiver (See Photos). The lever retains much of the case colors. The wood has normal wear and handling marks from hunting with no apparent cracks or breaks, retaining 90%+ Original Varnish and sharp checking. The sights are original with an added extra, a very nice rear tang sight. These models are hard to find in nice condition. FFL or C&R required. Thanks for looking.
