This single shot Match Target rifle was originally manufactured for sale in Finland about 1960, (SR# 8376) and found its way to the states over the course of its life This rifle is one of the finest examples of the Finnish Lion I’ve seen in some time. The condition is outstanding throughout with a mint bore, bluing and wood at 95% or better. The weight of the rifle as shown is 14 lbs. This extra heavy 27.75” barrel tapers from 1.07” at the action to .94” at the muzzle. This barrel has a true target chamber and is real short. When a round is inserted and the bolt closed, the lands cut into the bullet all the way back to the case. The original micrometer rear sight is in superb condition as is the front hood and insert. The barrel was factory drilled and taped for blocks to mount the old style optics. These mount holes currently have fill screws inserted. The adjustable thumb hole stock is in near perfect condition with very minor handling marks on the forend and right side of the butt. The LOP is currently 13.5”. The removable spacers will reduce the LOP to 12” if needed. The Butt plate features vertical adjustment as well. Just an outstanding trigger. This is rather rare rifle and has been a safe queen for the past eight years. As the pictures exhibit, this rifle hasn’t seen much range time.
