Sadly discontinued in 2006, this .32 Magnum Chiefs Special Airweight only enjoyed a two year official production run. Photos, however, show one of only three we snagged that were a special run from this past October. These are named model.32 Magnum Chief's Special Airweight, the only six shot Chief Airweights ever built. Hammer and trigger are .240 checkered and .275 smooth combat, case colored MIM with floating firing pin, transfer bar, and internal keyed lock. Frame grip butt is grooved for lanyard like the companion Air Lite PD revolvers in other calibers; trigger guard is similarly grooved. Weight empty is an Air-Lite / M&P class 13 5/8 ounces. Barrel is two-piece variety, chrome steel with 1 7/8 inch length; sights are stepped ramp front and fixed notch rear. Action, of course, is traditional double and single action. These revolvers owe their existence to the superior penetration performance of the .32 H&R Magnum cartridge, one of the best for small handguns, right alongside the .22 Magnum and .357 Magnum. Each specimen of S&W Product number 163664 is in Brand New in its original box with all its papers, both lock keys, original Master Padlock, manual, waxed paper, and even its fired brass dated from October of 2009.
