This is a Smith and Wesson model 1917 45 ACP. This has no box. It has wood grips. Commercial. 6 shot, 5 1/2 inch barrel, fixed sights. Timing and lockup are good enough but not perfect. Stocks still have good checkering. As you can see from the photos there is some surface corrosion and light pitting. The bore is 90% and the serial is 180XXX.
