Winchester Model 97 with U. S. and ordnance markings. The 20 inch bbl is marked CYL. The pictures will show the markings to be used for your evaluation.

The stock and fore end are solid, almost no wear on the fore end and the original butt plate is solid without any cracks. There are several marks on the butt stock that are probably from frequent returns to the storage rack. The bore is mirror bright. Bbl and action blue is about 60%.

I believe this gun was handled and/or carried a lot, but the tightness of the action suggests it was shot very little. The serial number indicates a manufacturing date of 1917 or 1918. This is a very solid piece for the collector or cowboy action shooter.
