This is one the first Montgomery Wards Western Field #47a 22 s-l-lr Bolt Actgion Rifle barreled receiver in good condition for its age. There are a few small pits on barrel and bluing has natual wear but is mechanically sound and functional. This is a bolt action rifle missing the magazine. The Checkerd stock is in Great shape with stock and forearm having swivels, shoulder sling and fiberglass buttplate. My initials "dm" are engraved under the grip which are unseen unless you turned the rifle upside down.

This gun is believed to been manufatured in the 1960's and was a model for the US military training rifle. All parts are included except the magazine. My Father passed away and left me this gun which has been in the family for over 40 years.
