Description: From its ADF serial number prefix, this .357 Distinguished Combat Magnum Stainless, numbered Model 686, was manufactured in late 1983, probably November of President Reagan's third year in office. This is a civilian revolver, owned by an upstanding Ohio Journeyman from the Akron Area. It is in Excellent Condition, a very early 686 with no model suffix, only the M stamping inside the frame from the factory-mandated replacement of the hammer nose bushing in the mid-1980s. Finish is classic Smith & Wesson streaked stainless, with .365 smooth combat satin stainless trigger and serrated .375 semi-target satin stainless hammer. This 686 is Excellent throughout. Cylinder rotation marking is minimal. There is a short buffed streak on the upper left forward area of the frame next to the barrel, and that is the only surface detractions that we detect. Extreme right side of the recoil shield of the frame is flattened, but we believe that is original to the revolver. Smith & Wesson, after all, was never as smooth with their millwork as Colt was, but they're still standing tall with double action revolvers. SK-L Pachmayrs are period appropriate except for the Lion logo; Pachmayr did not produce grips with logos until about 1985, when the revolver underwent its bushing modification. This 686 is Excellent throughout as the photos show. We rate it as Excellent, 95 to 98 percent; photos, however, should suffice for interested parties to judge finish grade for themselves. It is certainly excellent mechanically. Blast effect to the under side of the frame top strap directly above the barrel's forcing cone is minimal, only a faint etchy line with no depth that traverses about 2/3 of the width of the top strap. Bore, cylinder chambers, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. From the looks of the cylinder face, this revolver has been fired fewer than 50 times. Double action trigger pull is exceptionally smooth, and the hammer travels an additional 8 to 10 degrees in all six positions after the cylinder times in double action. On single action, the hammer travels a full 30 degrees on all six, and the single action trigger pull pull is a stiff but crisp and original 4 1/4 pounds. Sights are windage and elevation adjustable white outline rear and red ramp front. Not only is this a pre-lock, pre-suffix 686, it is one of the scarcer variant 6 inch full lug barrel models. We are including a current production factory blue case, and we always include gun locks with our revolvers. Replacement price on the new ones in our area is upwards of $800 apiece. We're offering this one, however, for only $ 619.95. Not for sale to Massachusetts Destinations. Not transferable to civilians in California or Chicago. 2% discount, $622 delivered, if paid by USPS Money Order & no credit card.

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
