They made only 568 .410 Parkers,469 in VH Grade. When considering Skeet configured guns, they made a total of 81 .410’s with 64 of them being the VH grade. The Parker being offered up for sale in this ad is a very rare Parker. Serial number 226928 is a factory original Parker VHE Skeet, with factory straight grip, checkered butt, beavertail forend, ejectors, and single selective trigger. When you consider that it retains over 70% factory case color and 99% blue and wood, this is one very desirable, investment quality Parker .410.

Those who have the book “Parker Gun Identification & Serialization” will find that the gun is listed as a round knob ejector gun with double triggers, and it may have left the factory that way, or maybe not. What is certain is that the present configuration is Parker factory, including the wood and single trigger. I have disassembled the gun and examined it closely, photographed all pertinent areas of the gun, and then consulted the most knowledgeable Parker men in the country. Bill Mullins, one of the authors of “The Parker Story”, visited the gun recently and confirmed my assessment that this gun is all factory parts, installed at the Parker factory. It is likely the gun went back to the Remington/Parker plant before 1934 for the upgrade, or that it was drawn from inventory as noted in the Serialization book and upgraded for a customer order.

Upon removal of the trigger guard and stock, the serial number is properly located and stamped on the back side of the trigger guard, the wood is properly stamped in the tang area underneath the trigger guard, and the machining of the butt stock and forend wood are pure Parker. Only the factory installed their proprietary single selective trigger. None were ever done by DelGrego, Turnbull, or any other restoration house known. There can be no dispute that this is a factory Parker VHE Skeet configured .410, and as such, one of the rarest Parkers you could own.

The 26” barrels retain 99% factory blue, mirror bores, 3” chambers, Skeet In, Skeet Out chokes (.006/.008), internal bore diameter of .411/.412, ribs are tight and barrels ring, ejectors, barrels tight on breech face and hinge pin, no dents, dings or scratches, nearly perfect barrels.

The receiver retains 70% factory case color coverage, excellent screws, sharp engraving, action tight with lever centered, Parker second generation single selective trigger, trigger guard worn on long tang, good elsewhere, trigger is crisp and clean, OOO frame, ejectors strong and timed, just nice gentle wear.

The wood is very nicely figured English stock with checkered butt, excellent checkering, superb wood to metal fit, beavertail forearm, no splits, cracks, or repairs, 14 3/8” LOP to mid-position single trigger, 2 ¼” drop at heel, 1 7/16” drop at comb, just awesome shooting dimensions. The wood is simply gorgeous and near perfect factory finish.

This 1928 vintage gun weighs 5lbs. 14oz. and feels like a wand in your hands. I can’t imagine a better gun for some fun at the skeet fields, or to take down a few woodcock or quail. With such low production numbers, rare configuration, and high factory finishes, this gun will continue to grow in value as you enjoy its use. There are few opportunities to own a genuine Parker .410 Skeet, and this is one nice specimen.

I have many photos upon request. There is a 30 day mechanical warranty on this gun. PLEASE SEE MY OTHER FINE VINTAGE FIREARMS ON THIS WEBSITE. Just open one of my ads and click on the line that says “see all items from this seller” and a nice list of fine sporting arms will appear. I have many fine guns not yet listed so if you don’t see what you are after, just ask. Thanks for looking, and don’t let this one get away!
