Winchester Model 70 SUPER GRADE .375 H & H- GREAT WOOD- FACTORY
This is a 1956 vintage Super Grade in the very desirable .375 H & H Magnum with factory wood that is FAR MORE FIGURED THAN AVERAGE. This is a factory original rifle with factory rust blue barrel, factory jeweled bolt and magazine follower, and factory oil finished stock.
The barrel retains 98% original blue, perfect mirror bore with no pitting anywhere, original factory sights, medium heavy contour, clean crown. The wood is one of the nicest factory original stocks I have seen on a Super Grade with no cracks or repairs and excellent original checkering, and retains the original factory pad. There is one light scratch on the left side that I can repair easily if you so wish for $100, and blend it in with the rest of the factory finish. It is inconsequential as it is and I did not want to alter the originality of the gun. The factory oil finish is almost all there, though there is some light wear on the cheek piece. A beautiful Super Grade in a kick-ass cartridge.
Everything is correct on the rifle except the sling and swivels are missing. This is a very fine rifle and I am pricing it to sell quickly. I am mainly a shotgun man and do not shoot rifles. The Super Grade in .375 is an investment quality rifle, meaning it will increase in value annually if you take good care of it. The .375 H&H Magnum comprised less than 2.5% of the total production of the Model 70, and the Super Grade was under 3% of total production. It is a fairly rare gun, and with the best factory wood available, most guys will pay a premium for the wood quality.
